AI-Supported Training Programme for Foreign Trade Intelligence Centre Experts Held in Ankara

October 8, 2026

The training programme entitled “AI-Supported Foreign Trade Intelligence: From Reporting to Export Operations”, aimed at experts from Foreign Trade Intelligence Centres (DTİMs) operating under the coordination of the Ankara Development Agency, was held on 6–7 October 2026 at Teknopark Ankara.

The two-day training programme brought together experts from five Foreign Trade Intelligence Centres operating under the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO), Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO), OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, İvedik Organized Industrial Zone, and Başkent Organized Industrial Zone. With strong interest and active participation from the participants, the programme focused on practical applications of AI-supported tools and methods to make foreign trade intelligence processes faster, more accurate, and more effective.

The advanced-level training covered practical applications in areas such as AI-supported company and product profiling, target market intelligence, identification of potential customers, and international tender and supplier intelligence. Participants also worked on analysing foreign trade data using AI tools, identifying and verifying potential customers, and transforming intelligence outputs into actionable export operations.

On the second day, the programme focused on translating intelligence into export outcomes under the “From Intelligence to Results” approach. Topics included AI-supported personalised initial outreach and follow-up processes, multilingual digital visibility, automation of intelligence workflows, and end-to-end case studies. Based on the intelligence outputs they generated, participants developed sample case studies covering outreach strategies and digital visibility actions.

The training also focused on the integrated use of foreign trade data sources such as ITC Trade Map, ITC Export Potential Map, and Tendata, together with international tender platforms and AI-powered tools. At the end of the programme, participants were provided with practical materials, including an AI prompt library for foreign trade intelligence, a target market selection template, a potential customer verification checklist, a source mapping tool, and multilingual outreach email templates.

The training programme aimed to strengthen the existing foreign trade knowledge and experience of experts working at Foreign Trade Intelligence Centres through AI-supported methods, while contributing to the transformation of intelligence outputs into concrete export opportunities, qualified customer contacts, and more effective export operations for businesses.
