High Schools Get Stronger with the Agency Support

May 9, 2023

Within the scope of the Social Economy Financial Support Program with a Focus on Sustainable Development Goals (2022), signatures were signed for the project titled "Health Vocational High School Anatomy Virtual Reality Laboratory- Lokman Hekim Anatomy VR Lab" of Çankaya Lokman Hekim Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. The contract was signed on May 2, 2023, on behalf of Süleyman SAYIN, School Principal and project partner Lokman Hekim University, with the participation of Prof.Dr. Nilgün BEK, Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences and Dr. Cahit ÇELİK, Ankara Development Agency General Secretary.

The project includes the establishment of the Anatomy Virtual Reality (VR) Laboratory so that Çankaya Lokman Hekim Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and project partner Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Health Sciences students can make it easier to learn and transfer anatomy lessons. It is observed that the learners have difficulties in the process of comprehending the subjects and internalizing the information they have learned due to the fact that the anatomy course, which is one of the basic building blocks of the health education curriculum, contains intense and complex information. It is aimed to concretize the abstract structures in the anatomy course with virtual reality (VR) by making them 3D and making complex subjects more understandable. In this context, Lokman Hekim Virtual Reality (VR) Anatomy Laboratory will be established where Vocational High School students will take Anatomy lessons in a virtual reality environment and practice.
